Coralville, IA – The Toledo Walleye fell to the Iowa Heartlanders at Xtream Arena in the morning matchup in Iowa with a final score of 2-0.
How it Happened:
The first period had minimal action and was scoreless. An Iowa goal was called off halfway through the period. Although Toledo was outplaying and outshooting Iowa 14-8, the game remained tied 0-0 at the end of the period.
The second period was also quiet and scoreless until Iowa tallied a goal first at 19:47 of the second period. Toledo trailed the Heartlanders 1-0 heading into the 3rd.
Despite having 41 shots on goal and an offensively heavy third period, Toledo failed to get a goal on the board.
Iowa sealed the deal with an empty net goal and the Walleye fell to the Heartlanders with a final score of 2-0.
