Game 3 of the 2019 ECHL Kelly Cup Finals was history making on many levels for the Toledo Walleye. A record-breaking crowd of 8,472 watched the first Kelly Cup Finals game (a 4-1 win!) to be played at the Huntington Center. The atmosphere inside the arena was something never seen or heard before in the 10-year history of the team!
The epic scene was set as fans were greeted with a giant banner as they approached the Huntington Center’s main entrance.
Inside the arena fans were treated to a free “White-Out” t-shirt from Jupmode to celebrate the team's first home Finals game.
Before the puck was dropped, fans were asked to turn their cell phone lights on as the house lights were turned off, creating a magical moment leading up to the game.
Toledo hockey alumni were in attendance to help support the Walleye, always part of the Toledo hockey family.
Walleye fans brought the energy throughout the game, helping the team create a true home ice advantage.
Following the 4-1 victory, Walleye players credited the crowd for giving them a huge lift.
