(Toledo, OH) – Forward Christian Hilbrich has been loaned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. The Wolves play in Grand Rapids against Toledo’s AHL affiliate on Wednesday night.
The 25 year old forward is heading to the AHL as the current Walleye leader in goals scored with 19 while his 37 points is good for second on the team. He has posted a plus 12 rating for the Walleye this season. Hilbrich spent his first professional season with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL posting 45 points. He scored 16 goals with 29 assists and 48 penalty minutes while playing the season as a plus 21. The Port Credit, Ontario native also appeared in six games at the AHL level for Scranton Wilkes-Barre with no points.
The 6’7”, 216 pound forward spent four years at Cornell University where he played in 111 games with 27 goals, 21 assists and 70 penalty minutes. Hilbrich was a Captain his senior season (2015-16) for the Big Red while also being named to the Second Team All-American for the Senior CLASS Award. He was a pillar of consistency at Cornell picking up 14 points in each of his last three years at Cornell.
