Toledo, OH – Forward Darian Dziurzynski (dur-zin-ski) has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2017-18 season. In a separate transaction, forward Alex Foster has been released.
Dziurzynski, a native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, joins the Walleye after playing in Europe last year for Manchester in the EIHL. In 50 contests, the 26-year-old posted 29 goals with 23 assists for 52 points and 68 penalty minutes. Over his career, Dziurzynski has skated in 184 games at the AHL level, most notably with Portland for three straight years from 2012-2015, with 321 penalty minutes to go along with 27 goals and 17 helpers.
The 6’1”, 205-pound forward has also skated in the ECHL in the 2015-16 season when he split the year between Tulsa, Greenville and Missouri. In Toledo, Dziurzynski appeared in 61 contests that season with 24 goals, 16 assists, 40 points and 84 penalty minutes. Prior to turning professional, he skated from 2008 through 2012 in the WHL with Saskatoon and Brandon (304 games played, 92 goals, 69 assists and 505 penalty minutes).
