Look Back to Last Week: Toledo played three games in three days last week starting Thursday night in Reading. Toledo grabbed a 3-1 lead early in the third period but the Royals came back to beat the Walleye 4-3 in overtime. Friday saw the Walleye in Adirondack for the first time ever. Toledo scored twice in the third period but couldn’t erase a 5-1 deficit in a 5-3 loss. The Walleye rebounded Saturday night riding a 30 save performance from Pat Nagle in a 4-2 win over the Thunder.
Reno Nets First: Defenseman Parker Reno scored his first professional goal late in the second period Saturday night for his first professional goal. The first year defenseman played in his first three games of the season last week and finished with a goal and an assist while finishing as a plus five.
Road Kings: Toledo is on the road currently, and is similar to the start of the 2016-17 season with 14 of the first 20 contests played away from the Huntington Center.
Three More Games this Week: Toledo will finish its grueling seven-day road trip Tuesday night against the Worcester Railers in the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The Walleye return home on Saturday night to host the Kalamazoo Wings for the first time this year. The long-time rivals play each other just six times all season long. Sunday, Toledo will travel to Indy to take on the Fuel for the first of nine meetings this season. • I am Iron Man: Saturday night at the Huntington Center is Marvel Super Hero Night featuring the Walleye wearing Iron Man inspired jerseys produced by Marvel and the ECHL. The night, presented by Monarch Comics, will feature an appearance from Iron Man himself and a special Walleye inspired Marvel poster giveaway!
