(Toledo, OH) – Former University of Michigan defenseman Kevin Lohan has signed with the Toledo Walleye.

Lohan spent four years with the Wolverines until playing as a grad student this year for Boston College. The 6’5”, 220 pound defenseman completed this season with two goals, six assists and 10 penalty minutes with an impressive plus 14 in 22 games for the Eagles. Erasing a lead: For the first time this season, Toledo was able to comeback when trailing heading to the third period on Saturday night in Indy to win 4-3 in overtime. Goals from Mike Embach and Kyle Bonis in the third period tied the game and Bonis scored just 16 seconds into the overtime to complete the comeback. Toledo was 0-12-1-1 prior to the win.

Walleye add forward on ATO

Toledo, OH – Forward Luke Nogard has been added to the Toledo Walleye roster on an amateur tryout agreement. The Walleye are in Quad City tonight.

Nogard just finished his best season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha by appearing in 35 games with nine goals, four assists, 13 points and 26 penalty minutes. Over four seasons for the Mavericks, the 24-year-old skated in 114 games with 10 goals, 13 assists and 102 penalty minutes. In each of the last three years, Nogard has been on the NCHC All-Academic team.

Denis gets an AHL call

(Toledo, OH) – Defenseman Simon Denis has been loaned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Denis has been on hot streak lately, riding a nine-game point streak (1G, 12A) and has had at least one assist in those nine straight games, tying a Toledo Walleye record. For the season, the 26-year-old ranks 16th in defenseman scoring with 35 points (6G, 29A).
