Up and down week results in a pair of wins: Toledo started its week with a 4-1 loss in Cincinnati but rebounded with wins at Wheeling (6-2) on Thursday and 3-2 over Kalamazoo Friday. The week closed with a tough 8-2 loss to the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday night. Toledo reached three or more goals in their wins which boosted their record to 21-0-1 when reaching three goals in a game.

Walleye add two before tonight’s game

(Toledo, OH) – Forward Joe McKeown (mc-que-en) and Defenseman Sean Federow (fed-er-oh) have both agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2018-19 season. Both are expected to play tonight for the Walleye in Wheeling.
McKeown is in the first full season in the pro ranks after appearing in 15 games with Peoria of the SPHL last year (1G, 1A, 15 penalty minutes). So far this year, the 24-year-old forward has produced eight goals, eight assists and 33 penalty minutes with Quad City of the SPHL. He has been playing as a plus seven for the Storm. Back to back weekend wins: Toledo exploded for seven goals in a 7-4 Friday night win over Norfolk to snap a two game losing skid. Toledo followed that up with an impressive come from behind win Saturday night in Fort Wayne by beating the Komets 3-2. Midway through the second period the Walleye trailed Fort Wayne 2-0. Tyler Spezia collected the equalizer with 52 seconds before the Walleye took the game in the shootout.

Three of four in the wrong way: Toledo only picked up one win over the past week and it was in come from behind fashion. Toledo lost to Cincinnati at home on Wednesday, Saturday vs. Wheeling and then Sunday at Brampton. The Walleye trailed Tulsa 3-1 after the first period and 4-2 in the second before roaring back for a 6-4 win Friday night at the Huntington Center.
