MATT MELZAK - Radio/TV Play-by-Play

Matt Melzak has been "The Voice of the Toledo Walleye" since the inaugural 2009-10 season. Matt serves as the lead television and radio announcer for all home games and is the primary radio announcer while the team is on the road. Melzak also hosts the weekly coaches show during the season on Fox Sports Radio 1230, WCWA.

Matt was the Director of Communications and the voice of the Toledo Storm from 2003-2007. In 2006, Matt was selected as a member of the ECHL All-Star Game broadcast team.

A Toledo native, Melzak has called hundreds of hockey games at all different levels, including a full season as the voice of Bowling Green State University Hockey. He has also worked for BCSN since its inception calling football, baseball, and hockey telecasts. Matt has also worked for ESPN 106.5 the Ticket, and 94.5 WXKR.

Matt graduated from Toledo St. Francis High School in 1994 and the University of Toledo in 1999.


A 1988 graduate of Bowling Green with a degree in sports management, Paluch joined USA Hockey as a regional manager of the American Development Model in 2009, following a long history as both a coach and a player. He spent seven seasons as head coach for his alma mater, leading the Falcons to their most wins in 13 years in 2007-08. Prior to that, Paluch served as an assistant coach at Boston College from 1994-2002.

He made his mark on the Falcons' program during his four years as a player. Paluch patrolled the blue line for Bowling Green from 1984-88, earning All-America and All-Central Collegiate Hockey Association First Team honors his senior season. He graduated as the Falcons' all-time leader in goals and points among defensemen. Following his graduation, Paluch signed a professional contract with the St. Louis Blues. He played two seasons for Peoria, the Blues' International Hockey League affiliate.

Scott and his wife, Amy Jo, reside in Bowling Green. They have three children.
